All requirements and procedures needed to execute the experimentation in the different scenarios were carefully identified. The validation process will occur in two phases: the first phase will involve healthy individuals utilizing the initial release of the SUN integrated platform, while the second phase will involve the experimental group of subjects utilizing the final release of the integrated platform.
The designated physical space for conducting the pilot, taking into account specific requirements to ensure suitability have been identified. The pilot 1 “rehabilitation” will be carried out in a dedicated environment in Versilia Hospital in Lido di Camaiore, Lucca Italy. The pilot 2 “safety and social interaction at work” will be carried on in Factor Ingeniería y Decoletaje in Puçol, Valencia Spain. The pilot 3 “severe motor and communication disabilities”will be carried on in CRR Suva (Clinique romande de réadaptation) Sion Switzerland. User categories, the Avatar presence, the outcome measure, the tasks to be executed and the personnel needed for operate the system, have been identified.
Also all the ethical consideration and legal requirement have been addressed.
The first phase is ready for starting at the beginning of 2025, whilst the second phase, which is the final validation of the system involving disable people in pilot 1, factory workers in pilot 2 and people with severe communication disability in pilot 3, will be carried out from July to November 2025.In pilot 1, women affected by lymphoedema following breast cancer surgery, coming from Outdoor Against Cancer, aninternationally operating NGO located in Munich Germany, will undertake the rehabilitative treatment in Versilia Hospital.
