Giuseppe Amato, SUN XR coordinator, participated in the NEM Summit in Brussels, contributing to the panel “AI for Virtual Worlds,” organized and chaired by Silvia Boi for FAIR.
During the panel, Giuseppe not only stimulated discussion on the use of Generative AI for Virtual Worlds but also introduced some of the research directions currently being explored and the results achieved within SUN XR. These efforts focus on creating semantically enriched 3D models of the physical world using Generative AI.
Leveraging these solutions, it will be possible to organise and participate in hybrid physical/virtual social events based on eXtended Reality. This can be achieved by creating highly realistic and plausible Virtual Environments on the fly from snapshots of the physical environment or from text prompts.
