From April 14–16, 2025, the SUN project team gathered at Campus Biotech in Geneva for a crucial milestone: the validation of the interactive system with healthy participants.
The system allows users to control virtual environments through forearm EMG signals, triggering immersive haptic and thermal feedback, and emotion recognition module that tracks the state of the user. Over three days, the team successfully integrated and tested EMG decoding, VR interactions, feedback mechanisms (haptic and thermal), and multi-user capabilities.
While some aspects need to be refined for the next stage with patients, we have identified all potential issues and will work together on specific aspects to improve user experience as well as reliability of the workflow.
Stay tuned as SUN continues to bridge neurotechnology and virtual experience for people with serious mobility and verbal communication diseases.
On SUN YouTube Channel you can find a video showing the activity performed.
